The Reed Brothers series (III, IV, V, VI) - Tammy Falkner

I've finally read the rest of the Reed Brothers series by Tammy Falkner. In case you haven't read my review on the two first books of the series, click here!

The reason why I've been holding off this series for so long is because of the writing. I mentioned in my first review that the awful writing kind of threw me off, and I sort of lost interest when it came to the rest of the series. Logan had satisfied my hunger. Or so I thought.

The first six books follow the Reed brothers, and all the other books of the series focus on different important characters that we meet throughout the first six. And before you ask, yes, I will get to those as well because, you guys, I'm hooked.

So how did I get to reading the rest of the series after almost a year? Well, the books were sitting there in my library, and after reading It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover, which broke my heart into thousands of little pieces and wail like a baby, I needed something crude that would make me laugh a little bit. Note that some parts of this series are very sad, too. But overall, the relationship between the five brothers is just incomparably entertaining.

Like I've mentioned in my previous review, the four brothers, from oldest to youngest, are Paul, Matt, Logan, Sam, and Pete.

The first two novels follow Logan and Emily, but we do see them as the series goes on. Then, the third book focuses on Pete and Reagan. The fourth book is about Matt and Skylar. The fifth book is about Paul and Friday. And Finally, the sixth book follows Sam and Peck.

In order:
Tall, Tatted and Tempting
Smart, Sexy and Secretive
Calmly, Carefully, Completely
Maybe Matt's Miracle
Proving Paul's Promise
Zip, Zero, Zilch

The Reed brothers, ages twenty-one to twenty-six, are tattoo artists in New York City. They all live together until each of them enters a relationship, so a different brother leaves in each book. But they're best friends, and their friendship is absolutely fabulous. They're crude and they fart a lot, and they have a drawer of condoms in Paul's kitchen. Tammy Falkner must really know everything about boys, because let me tell you, it's so realistic I almost couldn't believe it.

There's also a lot of sex and crude comments. The first two books about Logan are available in a Sexy Lite version, which cuts down the detailed scenes, but the rest of the series is as it is. Each book is very detailed, and each book comes in two different POV: the respective brother and his girlfriend. So you get to be in the head of a horny Reed, yay!

I know I said that the reason why I'd held off for so long was the writing, but I was surprised to see how good it gets in the third book. Even the punctuation is better, so I didn't have as much trouble reading the series. In fact, the third book is my favorite. Pete and Reagan have a special story together, and even though Matt is my favorite character, Pete holds a special place in my heart.

Something that particularly got me hooked is the development of each character throughout the entire series. Each book goes from a couple of months to two years apart, so seeing how the characters evolved from the beginning is awesome. I love the way it feels like each story never ends. There is nothing sadder than finishing a book and not really knowing how the rest of the future goes. With this series, you get a glimpse of each couple's lives a few years later.

I know I recently wrote a post about my favorite series, The Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout, but this series probably comes second. If you like romance and fun, this one's for you!
